Rigzin Chosdon

Rigzen hails from the high altitude hamlet of Gya, one of the oldest settlements in Ladakh. With a BSc. in Physics, Chemistry and Math, she’s currently pursuing a Masters in Economics from the University of Jammu.

An accomplished mountaineer, Rigzin also graduated from the ABV Indian Institute of Mountaineering, India’s top mountaineering school, winning “Best Mountaineer” twice. She’s participated in several expeditions on mountains in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh over 20,000 feet.

For the past five years, Rigzin has been an active member of the Youth Association of Gya and Miru, an organization in her village that supports educational and environmental causes.

Rigzin is the camp coordinator and a field guide for our snow leopard expeditions.
