Voygr Expeditions

Voygr Expeditions is an experiential travel provider in the Trans-Himalaya and Central Asia. We specialize in Himalayan wildlife safaris, photography expeditions, cultural engagement tours, and student learning expeditions across the Indian subcontinent, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. We started up in Ladakh, India and still call this stunning region our home.

Management Team

Behzad LarryBehzad J. Larry, FRGS

Behzad is an adventurer, entrepreneur, and professional with a decade of experience running ventures and development programs in South Asia, Eastern Africa, and the United States. He has worked in partnership with the private sector and state and national governments in India and Africa in the fields of waste management, public infrastructure, environmental policy, education policy, and livelihood development. He has also served in India as a William J. Clinton Fellow.

Behzad has a BA from Colby College, Maine, where he was a Ralph J. Bunche Scholar and majored in History and Classical Civilizations. Originally from Central India, he is a keen trekker, outdoorsman, and professional photographer. Now based in New York, Behzad has traveled the length and breadth of the Himalayas and loves leading photo expeditions for Voygr into the seldom visited remote reaches of Ladakh. Behzad is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a member of the Royal Photographic Society, and a Nikon Pro.

Elijah Q. Monroe

Eli Monroe is a professional program and brand strategist, and has designed successful approaches in the domains of social business, leadership and skill development, online jobbing, and mental health.  He has worked and traveled extensively, with a strong focus on Asia. Eli is also an alumnus of the William J. Clinton Fellowship.

He holds an M.A. in International Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies and a B.A. from the Evergreen State College. Despite a career that has seen him working on high-impact projects in metropolitan areas around the world, Eli is a backwoods man at heart.  Born in the pristine wilderness of Northern California’s coastal mountains, the appreciation and preservation of Earth’s remaining natural places are paramount to his core values. Eli builds Voygr’s partnerships and is developing the Voygr Outdoor Expeditionary Learning center in Mendocino, California.

Abdul Rashid

Abdul Rashid is a mountaineer, photographer, and Voygr’s Himalayan expert. Originally from a small village in Nubra Valley by the Indo-Chinese border, he speaks 8 languages. Rashid has successfully helped clients summit the tallest peaks in Ladakh including Nun & Kun (7,125m & 7,077m), Saser (7,518m), Chamser (6,634m), Lingser (6,666m), and Stok Kangri (6,153m) among others in his 20 year career as a mountain guide. He has led expeditions for explorers and students across the Himalayas.

Rashid is a certified Advanced Mountaineer from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in Uttarkashi. Apart from Voygr’s mountain expeditions, Rashid specializes in organizing logistics, location scouting, and expeditionary requirements for various photo and filming clients. Previous high profile clients have included both National Geographic and The Discovery Channel. Rashid lives in Leh with his family.

Charles IannuzziCharles Iannuzzi

Charles Iannuzzi has dedicated his career to combining the fields of education and travel. Since graduating from Duke University in 2007 with majors in biology and political science, Charles has volunteered with the INGO WorldTeach on Kaben Island in the Republic of the Marshall Islands; developed syllabi and curricula for Ashram Paryavaran Vidhyalaya (APV) School in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India, on a William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service, served as the Dean of Students and Dean of Admissions at Fudan International School in Shanghai, China, and managed international admissions at the Hotchkiss School as Director of International Admissions.

Charles is an avid hiker, runner, and outdoor enthusiast. He currently resides in Beijing, China.

Caitlin Ferguson

Caitlin joins Voygr from the technology and international development sector. She has worked across India, including a William J. Clinton Fellowship in Vishakhpatnam, Andhra Pradesh at a social enterprise managing solid waste. Most recently, she worked as a consultant to implement technologies for social impact organizations. She holds a BA from Northeastern University, in Boston. At Voygr, Caitlin leads student expeditions, outreach, and marketing initiatives.

Caitlin is happiest when in the mountains, especially if there is a dog by her side. She splits time between India and Colorado, USA

Sridar IyengarSridar Iyengar

Sridar Iyengar is an independent mentor investor in early stage startups and companies.
Earlier, Iyengar was a senior partner with KPMG in the US and UK and was Chairman and CEO of KPMG India. Sridar is a director in Dr. Reddy Laboratories, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India, ICICI Venture Management, CL Educate, Cleartrip Travel Services Private and serves on the Management Board of Murugappa group. He has previously served on the boards of Infosys, Infosys BPO, ICICI Bank, Rediff.com, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. He has served as president of TiE Silicon Valley, TiE Global and TiE Mumbai and Chaired the Clinton Fellowship. He was also on the board of Janaagraha Center for Citizenship and Democracy and co-creator of www.ipaidabribe.com.
Sridar is the co-Founder of the 360Plus network focusing on providing “learning through travel” opportunities to low-resourced students in the US and India.
